This is THE bible for Real Estate Agents. Answers so many questions. Yes, I know that I can google an info that I want, but as the daughter of a librarian, I have always liked to have real books around too.

As a newly licensed realtor I found that there was much I didn't know about house styles and structure. I purchased this book on the recomendation of a home appraiser. I must say it has answered all my house design questions. Not sure of the differance between a bi-level and split-level home? You need this book! It covers all the aspects of house design from style and construction to the various systems needed to make the home a comfortable habitat. I keep this book on my desk to use as a quick reference manual for any house related question.

Full of useful information. Easy to understand. Wonderful illustrations too. This book is good for people who know little about how houses work and are designed.

But most homes you want to identify in lower value ranges from 1900 to 1955 don't seem to be portrayed in this book. I need UAD descriptions for appraisals and 75% of the time, they are not in there.

A book every appraiser should have in his/her library. Highly recommend.
