I have read this book twice since i just got it and realized the order of the book and the power of the presentation. It is a very clear presentation for both in dept reading and for those who are students. The issues are well presented. I regret only one thing that in the bibliography there is very limited African writers who give the African point of view. We must have that point of view before African history can have any balance at all.

Came as described, brand new, and was sealed and everything! Came within the shipping period too so thank you!

This is the one book if you are teaching a Modern African History course. Students enjoyed it.

This book provides in depth detail to what Africa is like and helps put the present day problems in perspective.

Arrived in good condition and subject matter seems really interesting

Although i did get the book on time, it as not until i opened it that i saw there was something wrong.There was many pages missing. The book started with 1 but 2 and 3 were blank( no text at all on them) then 3 and 4 were fine but 5 and 6 were blank. This continued for several pages.

This is essential reading for all Africanists. Davidson traces the history of the continent as well as anyone before or since. However, I can see why non-Africanists may not find this book interesting or useful.
